KIJABE FOREST

The Kijabe Forest is located in the Great Rift Valley, where Eden Projects began implementing a vision of restoring a thriving afromontane ecosystem.The Kijabe Forest was historically connected to the Kikuyu Escarpment Forest Reserve,however,the Kijabe Forest strip has become geographically isolated due to encrochment,resource pressures, and land use change.Kijambe Forest falls under the management of the Kenya Wildlife Service,due to geographic and financial constraints,thr forest had largely been unmanaged in recent decades.
